Shakeout

Just now, while working on a document, I need to translate "shakeout." According to the World Bank and IMF glossaries in my database, the Spanish translation should be "sacudimiento" or "asentamiento," none of which convey, in my judgment, the meaning of the word. So, I googled "define:shakeout" and found this definition:

Shakeout is a term used in business and economics to describe the consolidation of an industry or sector, in which businesses are eliminated or acquired through competition. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakeout

"Consolidación," I think, is better at conveying the meaning of "shakeout."
